Lisa’s Success Story | testimonial

The 2012 season is off to a great start, it’s my sixth year in triathlon! Last year I finally found some guts to take on a full Ironman at IMCanada and had an awesome experience. Most of this I attribute to a great season of coaching and preparation by Coach Sandy. I invested time with her working on my swim stroke for form which gave me more confidence I had EVER had in open water swimming. After many sessions and never missing a swim workout, I entered the water at Canada with an odd calm I had never experienced at short triathlons in the past. I was fully trusting that I was prepared and trusted in Sandy's instruction. I finished that day with a huge smile on my face, knowing that with a focus on preparation I could do anything I put my mind too!

After moving to Omaha last year, I found the Life Time Cycle Club and Run Club, which were under Sandy's expert eye and spent many hours working out with these groups making hard work tons of fun, too!

I entered this season prepping for IM #2...I dont know how I got my arm twisted for another one, but thats another story!:) This season I am honored to be helping with a lead role in Cycle Club and Run Club at Life Time. I have been excited to have so many motivating triathletes and runners kick my butt week after week, making me stronger and faster! I have continued to work on my swim but I still have the calm and confidence in the water which came through last year’s coaching.

I have just come from the season opener at Kansas City 5i50 Oly having PR'd by 15 minutes!! I finished in 2:46 with my fastest swim time ever, being back at a 19 mph average on the bike (with a little help from my new wheels;), and a run time I NEVER thought possible, 8:41/mile average on a 10K!! This placed me 9/32 and qualified me for the 5i50 Championship in September!:)

I am so blessed to have found Life Time, the many inspiring athletes I now call friends, and thank you Sandy for guiding me through my training again this year! YOU ROCK COACH!!
