Nutraceutical spotlight: Annatto-E-GG

Fatty Liver Disease is on the rise in the western world, and sadly does not affect only adults. Children now suffer from this disease as well. The good news is Fatty Liver Disease can be reversed. We need to change our diets to eliminate sugar; but to rehabilitate the liver, this Annatto product is essential. If your diet is suboptimal and carb heavy, I urge you to discuss NAFLD (Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease) with me so that we can evaluate long term liver health. Please know that you cannot supplement yourself out of fatty liver disease. Lifestyle habit changes are required! Doctor Ziya can coach you through proper nutrition as well.

Annatto-E GG combines tocotrienols and geranylgeraniol, two powerful ingredients that support healthy aging, cellular energy generation and maintenance of muscle and bone mass during the aging process.

Another NOTE for my patients taking CoQnol, this product is also fortified with geranolgeranol. As you know, this is beneficial for the growth of all skeletal muscle including the heart!

If you have severe lethargy or motivation, using BOTH products to kick start your convalescence is ideal. The only way to know for sure is to test, not guess, as I always say in my practice.

Let me help you back to a life worth living!

Annatto-sourced Tocotrienols and Geranylgeraniol

Tocotrienols (T3) are components of the vitamin E complex. Tocotrienols support cardiovascular health, including supporting healthy cholesterol and triglyceride levels and promoting a healthy inflammatory response. T3 may be beneficial for those with a buildup of fat in the liver, as well as those who need help maintaining normal blood sugar and insulin levels. Research also suggests tocotrienols may be useful for supporting strong, healthy bones.

Geranylgeraniol (GG) is found in annatto as well as flaxseeds, sunflower and olive oils and some medicinal herbs. It is also synthesized internally in our bodies, but this production declines as we age.GG is needed for constructing cell membranes, producing energy in mitochondria, supporting the production of hormones (such as testosterone), proper calcium trafficking (depositing calcium in the bones and teeth and keeping it out of other tissues, such as blood vessels and joints), and more.

Annatto-E GG supports

  • Cardiovascular health and a healthy lipid profile
  • Insulin sensitivity and normal glycemic control
  • Skin, bone, and eye health
  • A healthy inflammatory response
  • Antioxidant status
  • Healthy liver function
  • Maintenance of healthy muscles and bones during aging
  • Mitochondrial function and cellular energy generation
  • Hormone synthesis
  • Proper cell membrane construction

It is important to discuss this and all supplements with your health care provider before taking.

Nutritional supplements are not all created equal.

As Doctor Ziya has said in a recent blog post, over-the-counter supplement brands, including those you’d find at a health food store, often contain questionable additives like dyes, sugar, soy, gluten, fillers, and high fructose corn syrup; they even sometimes contain less of the active ingredients than are stated on the label. With little regulation in place for the supplement industry, it is important to trust the source of nutraceutical products.

Meridians and Marathons confidently recommends Designs for Health supplements because we know our patients are getting quality, clean ingredients that meet or exceed label claims, and are in bio-available forms for maximum efficacy. Designs for Health has all raw materials and finished supplements tested by a third-party lab for identity, potency, and unwanted contaminants like heavy metals, mold, and pesticides. This means you are getting what’s on the label, with nothing undesirable. Designs for Health is GMP certified, indicating that they adhere to good manufacturing practices.

This does not constitute medical advice in any way, if you have questions about your personal health situation contact Dr. Ziya OR other licensed medical provider.
